Mobilisation

Mobilisation is a manual treatment that is typically used in conjunction with traditional physiotherapy, osteopathy or chiropractic techniques. Our practitioners use their hands to mobilise joints of the body to reduce stiffness and improve function.

Conditions treated with Mobilisation

Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Sports Masseurs use a combination of techniques to alleviate pain in muscles, soft tissues and joints.  These might include mobilisation, manipulation, massage, frictional massage and other manual therapies.  The practitioner will assess your condition to diagnose and decide on the best course of treatment for a positive outcome.

Frequently asked questions about Mobilisation

Mobilisation is a gentle technique but if an injury is acute it may be a bit painful during and after treatment and may take a couple of days before the benefit is felt.

Your therapist may move your joints in specific directions to regain movement and stretch your muscles with massage. They may move the body part themselves or ask you to move against their resistance to improve muscle activation.
