Many of our clinics have an on-site ‘C-arm digital x-ray fluoroscope’ which can provide the doctor with an easily accessible x-ray view of part of the body.
They emit much less radiation than formal x-ray devices and can take many more views.
Many of our clinics have an on-site ‘C-arm digital x-ray fluoroscope’ which can provide the doctor with an easily accessible x-ray view of part of the body.
They emit much less radiation than formal x-ray devices and can take many more views.
Your doctor may wish to view an x-ray of part of your body using one of these devices. This is called ‘point-of-care’ x-ray.
Sometimes this is not appropriate and a formal x-ray is required which is routinely accompanied by a report from a consultant radiologist. These are available on request from a facility nearby but not necessarily on the same day.
Doctors may wish to image a part of your body using an ultrasound scanner which is available in all of our sites where there are Musculoskeletal/Sport & Exercise Medicine or Pain doctors available. This is called ‘point-of-care’ ultrasound scanning.
MRI scans are available after consultation with a doctor. However, these are available on request from a facility nearby but not necessarily on the same day.
Our receptionists are not able to advise or answer medical questions about whether an x-ray, MRI or ultrasound scan will be done since that is a question for the doctor during your consultation.
For self-pay patients the initial consultation fee does include a fluoroscopic x-ray or ultrasound scan but only if indicated and required by the doctor.
The best advice is to have a consultation with the doctor and the relevant imaging will be discussed with you at that time.

After a course of Prolotherapy my back pain has gone and I live a normal life. I can’t thank Dr Petrides enough for giving me back my quality of life
Following treatment at Blackberry Clinic, Milton Keynes my back pain improved and I could play for my country again
It would not be an exaggeration to say that Lorena has changed my life. Four months ago, having been diagnosed as having “severe, acute and chronic” disc degeneration I genuinely thought I was facing a life of disability (I am 49).
Lorena has re-taught me how to move my body and how to think about what muscles I engage to a point that I am now running, swimming and doing pilates again and have almost full flexibility in my spine. It almost feels like Lorena can see through your skin to your muscles, so profound is her understanding of how the body moves.
Just wanted to say please pass my thanks to my osteopath, I came yesterday with terrible back and shoulder pain and today I am pain free, am well delighted as had a day planned with friends was worried I wouldn’t enjoy, please pass my thanks onto her.
