A headache or migraine sufferer will know how disruptive a severe attack can be. Headaches impact not only on the sufferer but also on family and friends. There are around 300 causes of headaches.
Most headaches originate from the neck or are tension type headaches or migraines. At Blackberry Clinic we specialise in treatment of headaches arising from the neck (cervicogenic headaches) and tension headaches. We can diagnose if your headache is being caused by neck problems or is from elsewhere.
Tension headaches are the most common form of headache that can affect up to 80% of the population. They are typically felt over both sides of the head and are pressing or tightening in character but will not tend to interrupt work.
These headaches will have a variety of symptoms originating from strained joints in the neck or arthritis. These may be brought on by whiplash injury, sports injuries or other causes.
These headaches can often be accompanied by nausea and visual disturbances and sensitivity to light and are preceded by an aura. However, it is important to exclude serious causes of headaches such as these so make an appointment with your GP or specialist to discuss your symptoms.
You can see any of our practitioners for most conditions but check out their profiles for more information and specific interests. Our Pain Management doctors are trained to give neck injections, if necessary, for resistant headaches.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that Lorena has changed my life. Four months ago, having been diagnosed as having “severe, acute and chronic” disc degeneration I genuinely thought I was facing a life of disability (I am 49).
Lorena has re-taught me how to move my body and how to think about what muscles I engage to a point that I am now running, swimming and doing pilates again and have almost full flexibility in my spine. It almost feels like Lorena can see through your skin to your muscles, so profound is her understanding of how the body moves.
Following treatment at Blackberry Clinic, Milton Keynes my back pain improved and I could play for my country again
