What is physiotherapy?
Physio is a degree based profession and is regulated by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy also known as the CSP. A chartered and qualified physiotherapist will have the letters MCSP after their name, this means they are a member of the CSP.
On the CSP website the description of the profession is as follows:
Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.
They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.
The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them remain independent for as long as possible.

Mark Suttie is our regional Lead Practitioner leading the team of physios in all the clinics. Physios are trained to treat all painful musculoskeletal conditions so you can make an appointment with any of our physios.
Conditions treated by Blackberry Clinic physiotherapists include: knee arthritis, frozen shoulder, sciatica, hip pain, bursitis, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, achilles tendonitis, heel pain, back pain, neck pain, whiplash, muscle strains, ankle sprains, costochondritis and many more. Sports injuries are commonly treated by physiotherapy.
Physio treatments include manual therapy, exercise programmes, mobilisation of joints and muscles, soft tissue massage, rehabilitation programmes, postural advice and prescription of Phits orthotics. Some physiotherapists also offer acupuncture and Mark Suttie specialises in Connect Therapy. Some of our physios are trained in Shockwave Ultrasound therapy.
