Neck pain and headaches are often connected because a stiff neck, prolapsed disc or irritated spinal nerves in the neck can cause headaches. Neck pain is a common complaint and is not always accompanied by headaches. Neck muscles can be strained by poor posture from hunching over a work station. Osteoarthritis and facet joint inflammation can cause a great deal of pain and muscle spasm along with decreased mobility in the neck.
Arthritis and facet joint wear and tear are common causes of neck pain causing stiffness and difficulty turning your head. A prolapsed disc in the neck can be extremely painful and lead to tingling and numbness in the arm and hand. Whiplash is a neck injury due to forceful, rapid back and forth movement of the neck, most often caused by a car accident or sports injury. Neck pain can involve just the neck and shoulders or it may radiate down the arm, as a dull ache or ‘electric shock’ pain. Some neck conditions can cause numbness or muscle weakness in your arm. Headaches that result from neck discomfort or injury are known as cervicogenic headaches.

‘I’ve had back and neck pain for around 5 years and have seen a variety of physios through different referrals. I always get short term relief but no one has ever looked to fix the underlying long term issue of why my problems always come back. Mark was the complete opposite and focused solely on the underlying cause and looked to fix that using Connect Therapy™. The difference after 1 session was remarkable and I woke up without severe back and neck pain for the first time in years. After 6 sessions I was able to lift weights again and the education received through I cannot be more grateful and wish I had discovered Connect Therapy™ earlier.’
I attended with severe neck and shoulder pain which was causing dizziness and extreme pain and had been off work for 9 weeks. After just 2 consultations I was able to return to work and manage the symptoms. She even wrote to my doctor with her concerns which prompted them to carry out further tests . 3 months on and my life so much better. Would highly recommend the Blackberry Clinic to anyone ! Thank you
