Foot Pain

Your foot is made up of a complex network of bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons, designed to give you both stability and mobility. Therefore, there are many different structures and tissues in the foot that can cause pain from injury or overuse.

Conditions Causing Foot Pain

Some of the most common causes of foot pain are; Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis (pain in the arch of the foot) bursitis, arthritis, gout, bony spurs, Morton’s neuroma, sprain and fracture. Metatarsalgia is the name for pain in the ball of the foot or base of the toes. This can often be addressed by the use of orthotics to correct the position of the foot.
