Sports Day Corporate Physio!

sports-day

Our lead practitioner, Mark Suttie,  had a day away from Blackberry Clinic Milton Keynes, offering on site corporate physio for  one of our corporate business clients at their company wide annual Sports Day Event.  Blackberry Clinic provides  physio cover and does movement assessments for their staff.

There was plenty of competition going on so Mark was kept pretty busy dealing with hamstring strains, ankle sprains, calf tears and other (non sporting) issues resulting from the activities on offer! These included volleyball, swimming, school sports events, running etc, all to the beat of the DJ tent with the staff staying on for more music, food and events for the evening. Unfortunately, Mark couldn’t stay for that bit!

Glad to be of service and we hope their staff had a great time!

In 2021/22, there were approximately 36.8 million working days lost in Great Britain due to work-related injury or illness, compared with the preceding year, which had 38.8 million working days lost.
By having on site corporate physio you can reduce the number of working days lost by getting your staff early treatment in the work place. Physiotherapy can also be preventative as early intervention leads to quicker recovery times and optimum results.
In most countries back pain accounts for the largest proportion of lost working days of all musculoskeletal conditions. In the UK, for example, 12.5% of all sick days are attributable to back pain.
Physiotherapists are trained to treat back pain using manual techniques, exercise prescription and postural advice. If necessary, they can refer for further investigations such as MRI or X rays and they can also refer to a Sport & Exercise Medicine doctor for interventional injection treatment if this is appropriate.
Back pain is currently the largest reported reason for sickness absence in the UK. The employer has an important role in helping employees with back pain to return to work, and to reduce the risk of further episodes of back pain.
Having an experienced corporate physio on site can help reduce further episodes of back pain by educating the patient with postural advice and exercises.
