We are delighted to announce the return of Blackberry Education with our Lumbar Prolotherapy Workshop!

This informative course was held at Blackberry Clinic Milton Keynes where there are two fluoroscopic theatres and a comfortable meeting room for the lectures. Our lecturers all offer prolotherapy treatment at Blackberry Clinics.

Dr Vinay Ketkar, Dr Simon Petrides and Dr Tom Saw

We  welcomed a group of delegates who are Sport & Exercise Medicine consultants, Pain Management consultants and spine interventionists to Blackberry Clinic Milton Keynes for a course on Lumbar Prolotherapy. These doctors attended to learn the procedures so they can offer their patients the option of a ‘Regenerative Medicine’ treatment to augment the strength of intervertebral ligaments as an approach to treatment of lumbar instability.

Our delegates and lecturers

The day consisted of 3 lectures and a Q & A Session in the morning. The topics were as follows:1) Lumbar and SI joint prolotherapy introduction and dynamic fluoroscopy. Dr Simon Petrides MSK & Sports Physician, Blackberry Clinic, Milton Keynes2) History, symptoms, signs suggestive of instability. Dr Vinay Ketkar MSK & Sports Physician, Blackberry Clinic, Birmingham3) Solutions available, dosages, needles, syringes, injection course/intervals, repeats, flares, concurrent medication and after advice. Dr Tom Saw MSK & SEM Consultant, Blackberry Clinic, Oxford

An attentive audience for Dr Simon Petrides!

The afternoon consisted of a practical workshop: rotating in small groups, each with a fluoroscope, anatomical models, phantoms with real vertebrae and needles. The day concluded with a live patient demonstration by Dr Petrides.

We have state of the art ‘phantom’ models for accurate demonstration and the delegates are able to practice on the phantoms during the workshop.
