We are delighted to welcome Dr Rangu (Ranganathan) Iyer to Blackberry Clinic Havant. He is a Pain Management and Musculoskeletal Medicine Consultant with over  38 years of experience in acute and chronic pain management.

Rangu was the clinical lead for pain medicine and Clinical Director for Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, Theatre Services and Pain Management Care at the Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS trust before retirement from the NHS. He offers a comprehensive service, starting with expert diagnosis followed up by high quality medical treatment that is complemented by good support from physiotherapists and psychologists.

Qualifications:

Rangu brings a very high level of training and experience to the important task of patient care.

Today, his areas of special clinical expertise include treatment of neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and cancer pain.

Along with utilising a full complement of pharmacological treatments for pain, Dr Iyer performs a variety of interventional procedures such as epidural, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency lesioning, and sympathetic and peripheral nerve blocks guided by X-ray and ultrasound. He also is one of the few pain specialists to offer prolotherapy and regenerative therapies for the management of painful difficult to treat soft tissue injuries.

Prior to joining the NHS, he was commissioned in the British Army as Consultant for Anaesthetics and Resuscitation with special interest in Pain Management and he is the author of a chapter on Post Surgery Pain Syndromes in Textbook of Surgery

Rangu does Medico-legal Reporting on Pain issues especially in Whiplash and CRPS cases.
