Matt graduated
from Brunel University in 1998 with a BA (hons)
degree in Leisure Management with applications
to sport. After a spell working for Kingston University
Matt found himself working for a large advertising
agency in central London. Matt's interests always
centered around sport/health & fitness and
in late 2002 he made a career decision to expand
his knowledge gained during the degree, by completing
a Premier Diploma in Fitness Instruction, Personal
Training and Sports Therapy.
Matt joined the Blackberry team in April 2003 as a fitness instructor and Personal trainer and in 2004 became Gym Manager. Matt’s responsibilities include overall day to day running of the gymnasium including promotion and Marketing although he still enjoys the personal interaction with members and still continues with fitness instruction, personal training and teaching various fitness classes including Stretch and Tone, Fitballs, Boxercise and Pilates. Matt also runs the ever popular 4 week foundation course in Pilates.
Matts biggest achievement since becoming manager is being instrumental in setting up the GP exercise referral scheme here at the Blackberry. Matt is also chairman of the Amkeers steering group, a charitable trust consisting of all the gymnasiums across Milton Keynes involved in the scheme. The primary purpose of the group is to generate funding and ideas to continue the great results the scheme has offered for the people of Milton Keynes.
