Matt Marney
Gym Manager
Matt graduated from Brunel University in 1998 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Leisure Management with applications to sport. After a spell working for Kingston University Matt found himself working for a large advertising agency in central London.
Matt's interests have always centred around sport, health and fitness. In late 2002 he made a career decision to expand the knowledge gained during his degree by completing a Premier Diploma in Fitness Instruction, Personal Training and Sports Therapy.
He then joined the Blackberry team in April 2003 as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and in 2004 became Gym Manager. Matt's responsibilities involve the overall day-to-day running of the gymnasium including promotion, recruitment and marketing. However, he still enjoys the personal interaction with members and continues with work on the gym and studio floor. This work incorporates fitness instruction, personal training, post-rehabilitation work and teaching various group exercise classes.
Matt's work also includes coordinating the GP Exercise Referral Scheme and teaching the practical elements on the Motiv8 Scheme, a 10 week weight management course aimed at children between the ages of 5-16.
