Class Descriptions
Aerobics
A high-energy exercise class set to music. It combines high and low impact movements and will get your heart and lungs pumping, help you to burn off body fat and improve your body's strength, shape and tone. The routines are varied to keep your body and mind guessing each week and keep motivation levels high!
Pilates
Wednesdays, 13:00 - 14:00 | Thursdays, 18:00 - 19:00 | Fridays, 13:00 - 14:00
This floor-based class focuses on improving flexibility, strength and muscle tone. The movements are slow, controlled and fluid with an emphasis on mind and body awareness. The objective of Pilates is to teach correct breathing and movement techniques to improve posture as well as abdominal and spinal control. An exercise class to suit people of all ages and abilities and a relaxing way to strengthen the lower back, mind and body. Originally developed for dancers in the 1920's, this unique discipline for holistic strength and flexibility has grown into an innovative and popular exercise class. Pilates is recommended by Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and Chiropractors and can provide long-term relief from lower back pain.
Circuit Training
Tuesdays, 19:00 - 20:00
Classes are designed for people of all shapes, sizes and levels of fitness who want to get fitter and feel better. Using different stations in the studio, the aim of this class is to increase your cardiovascular fitness whilst also improving your general strength and tone. Anything goes in Studio Circuit - You name it we've got it!
The Circuit Training programme includes:
- 5 minute gentle warm-up
- 40 minute circuit
- 10 minutes of strength and flexibility exercises
A unique opportunity to learn how to make weight training fun, easy and effective. Come and experience this innovation for group exercise when the weight room comes to the studio to produce a great new workout suitable for beginners and advanced trainers alike.
Boxercise
Wednesdays, at 19:00
One of the most effective forms of cross-training available today, Boxercise combines the use of both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems, with the systematic recruitment of both fast and slow twitch muscle fibres in a manner that not only ensures a diverse workout but also enhances sports specific senses including hand-eye co-ordination, balance and timing. Boxercise classes are always fun, energetic and addictive.
Stretch and Tone
Mondays and Fridays, 09:45 - 10:45
Focussing on improving body awareness and everyday life by increasing flexibility and range of motion, Stretch and Tone classes help to relieve stress and tension, by relaxing the mind and body. Ideal for all levels of fitness - particularly suited to our older or less mobile clients.
